First Annual
Digital Citizenship Award Ceremony
On May 30th the Instructional Technology Department hosted the First Annual Digital Citizenship Awards. Students in grades K-8 created multimedia projects concerning safe Internet practices, a major focus of this year’s Instructional Technology curriculum. Students submitted projects covering the following topics: Digital Citizenship, Digital Commerce, Digital Etiquette & Communication, Digital Rights & Responsibility, Digital Safety, and Digital Security.
Kindergarten students collaborated to produce a book titled, “The ABC’s of Digital Citizenship and Technology”. Fourth grade students created posters depicting appropriate Internet practices. The winning entries were published and distributed to all KCMSD K-8 schools. Other projects included creating newsletters, calendars, storybooks, producing PSA’s (Public Service Announcements), PowerPoint presentations and movies on a variety of Digital Citizenship topics.
