School District Administrative Claiming (SDAC)!!
-Indirect Medicaid Reimbursement The District has formed a partnership with the State Department of Social Services, Division of Medical Services to share in the responsibility for promoting access to health care for students in the school system.
Many of the activities performed by District staff meet the claimable criteria for Medicaid Administrative Claiming. One of the purposes of the Medicaid School District Claiming Program is to reimburse school district for the activities, where allowed. SDAC provides funding for District staff to deliver the following student medical services:
- Coordinate student's health care needs with Medicaid providers
- Promote the availability of Medicaid covered health such as immunizations and Healthy Children and Youth Medical Screening (EPSDT)
- Collect information on the health history and needs of the child
- Make and follow-up on referrals as needed
- Activate the medical examination/diagnostic/treatment "loop."
- Move students into the existing "mainstream" system of health care delivery
-Direct Medicaid Reimbursement
Due to the percentages of District Medicaid students and the free and reduced lunch statistics, the District was able to negotiate Direct Medicaid contracts for medical services rendered to our students at the school and the clinic locations. District clinics provide multiple Medicaid approved treatment services, at no-cost to the student or their family. Among the primary services are health screenings, sports physicals, and immunizations. The District is reimbursed through Medicaid for many of these services.
